Milliken Avenue Rehabilitation Project

The project involved the rehabilitation of approximately 1.5 miles of Milliken Avenue, extending from Base Line Road to Banyan Street. Improvements were designed to enhance roadway conditions, accessibility, and traffic operations.

Key components of the project included:

  • Removal and reconstruction of curb returns, access ramps, and concrete spandrels at all impacted intersections to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Full-depth removal and replacement of asphalt concrete pavement in select areas
  • Grinding and overlay of existing asphalt concrete pavement in designated segments
  • Construction and replacement of concrete curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and retaining curbs
  • Adjustment of storm drain and sanitary sewer manholes to finished grade
  • Adjustment of water and gas valve covers to grade
  • Traffic signal modifications, including installation of pedestrian push-button posts
  • Implementation of video detection systems for traffic signal actuation at intersections
  • Application of thermoplastic striping and pavement markings

This project improved roadway durability, safety, and accessibility while upgrading essential infrastructure and traffic control systems along the corridor.
