PROJECTS

Haven Avenue Underpass

Aufbau provided construction inspection, and engineering and construction management support services to the City of Rancho Cucamonga for the development of the PS&E package and construction of this award winning project. Aufbau was engaged in every aspect of the project, from the preliminary conceptual design to final construction and project closeout. The project entailed lowering of the grades of Haven Avenue where it intersected the railroad tracks, construction of a temporary detour for Haven Avenue, installation of temporary shoo-flies to maintain the railway traffic during construction, construction of an elaborate shoring system, and construction of a railroad bridge for the Southern California Regional Rail Authority’s main and side tracks. The primary feature of the grade separation was a 4-span railroad bridge which spanned over the lowered Haven Avenue roadway section.  The superstructure consisted of pre-cast, pre-stressed arched concrete box girders simply-supported at the abutments and the center bent.
