PROJECTS
Wilson Avenue Street Improvements – East Avenue to Wardman Bullock Road
The project introduced a two lane roadway between East Avenue and Wardman Bullock Road – one lane of traffic in each direction, bike lanes in each direction, and a roundabout at the intersection of East Avenue and Wilson Avenue. The traffic signal at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Wardman Bullock Road also was modified to accommodate the new roadway construction and the new intersection geometry.
The project entailed mass grading of the project site to accommodate the new roadway profile, relocation of an existing 24-inch diameter Cucamonga Valley Water District water mainline, construction of major reinforced concrete structures, construction of storm drain facilities, construction of two wildlife crossings, construction of curb and gutters and sidewalk, asphaltic concrete paving, perimeter fencing, street lights, and pavement markings and striping.
The project also entailed extensive coordination with Metropolitan Water District, which owned and operated a 98-inch diameter water transmission line along the newly constructed Wilson Avenue, coordination with Cucamonga Valley Water District for the relocation of its water mainline, Inland Empire Utility Agency for the relocation of their conflicting facilities, and San Bernardino County Flood Control District for the removal and reconstruction of its drainage facilities.
Aufbau prepared the construction drawings and the specifications for construction of two wildlife crossings at Wilson Avenue, between East Avenue and Wardman Bullock Road, and the conduit installations for the wiring of video cameras – to monitor the wildlife activities crossing under Wilson Avenue.
