Victoria Gardens Civic Center Plaza

Aufbau provided construction management services for the project, beginning with the demolition of existing plaza improvements and continuing through final completion and closeout. Aufbau also coordinated design revisions to the approved drawings to address field discrepancies, including deviations in the existing underground utility and storm drain alignments, ensuring that construction progressed efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.

The Victoria Gardens Civic Center Plaza construction project was a city-led project to revitalize and modernize the public plaza space adjacent to the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center. With a construction cost of $6 million, the project focused on transforming the existing plaza—approximately 0.8 acres in size—into a more functional and visually appealing gathering place. Improvements included the removal of interfering hardscape and landscaping, replaced with upgraded walkways, enhanced drainage systems, new lighting, and refreshed irrigation and landscaping. Additional features such as a raised stage, a storage room, shade structures, signage, improved seating areas, and accessible pathways were incorporated to support a wide range of community events and daily public use.

Although the project covered only a relatively small portion of the larger Victoria Gardens development, it played a significant role in enhancing the Civic Center area. The renovation aimed to strengthen the plaza as a central hub for cultural and social activity while maintaining the pedestrian-friendly, “downtown-style” character that defines the area. By upgrading both infrastructure and aesthetics, the project created a more welcoming, flexible environment for performances, gatherings, and recreation, ensuring the space continues to serve residents and visitors for years to come.
