ASSISTANT ENGINEER (ENTRY LEVEL)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Assistant Engineer’s responsibilities include performing entry-level tasks involved in civil engineering design including conceptual engineering studies, preliminary engineering studies, and final design. The Assistant Engineer will prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for highways, roadways, storm drains, and other Public Works projects under the supervision of Civil Engineers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science in civil engineering
  • 2 years of experience in civil engineering
  • E.I.T. Registration
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, within a team oriented environment

 

CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Construction Inspector’s responsibilities include:

  • Perform daily site inspections
  • Ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications
  • Prepare comprehensive daily reports
  • Maintain up-to-date project records/ documents
  • Monitor time and material work
  • Measure and record pay quantities
  • Monitor construction safety
  • Coordinate 3-rd party material testing inspections
  • Develop and issue notices of non-compliance and stop-work orders

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 plus years construction experience in Public Works projects
  • A high school education or GED equivalent education – a Bachelor’s degree in related field a plus
  • Ability to read blue-prints/ construction plans
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, within a team oriented environment
  • Inspection certifications highly desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
