Fire Station 178

Fire Station 178 in Rancho Cucamonga is one of the city’s newest and most advanced fire facilities, located at 10595 Town Center Drive in a central area that allows for efficient emergency response across surrounding neighborhoods. The station is a modern two-story building of over 12,000 square feet, designed with multiple apparatus bays, living quarters for firefighters, offices, and training and support spaces, all situated on a site of approximately 2.3 acres – large enough to allow for future expansion. The project also included a record-storage building of approximately 850 square feet in area, and a three-bay apparatus-storage building of approximately 2,100 square feet in area.

The facility includes a large solar panel system paired with battery storage, enabling it to operate off the electrical grid for at least 24 hours during emergencies. It was also designed with future-forward infrastructure to support zero-emission vehicles, including housing a Rosenbauer RTX, a cutting-edge electric fire engine that operates with significantly reduced noise and emissions compared to traditional apparatus.
